After going through our Growth Track system, there are many more ways you can get involved…
Nursery and Preschool Workers
We are looking for many hands to care for the smallest of our congregation. This is one of the most important areas of ministry in our church, because these workers allow for the parents to be ministered to in our Sunday services. Our classes breakdown to infants to eighteen months, eighteen months to three years, and four and five year olds. We need permanent weekly teachers who are willing to teach one service each week and teachers aids who are willing to volunteer for one service a month. Background checks are required to work with our children’s ministry. Please contact Miranda Ferrante if you would like to be a part of touching children’s lives.
Pier 29 Children’s Leader
Our children’s ministry is a high energy program that invests in the lives of elementary students. There are many ways to get involved on a weekly basis in areas that include helping lead small groups, kids choir leaders, hall monitors to ensure the safety of our kids, crafts, kids media team, and most importantly hanging out with kids. We also have yearly activities including Family Fun Day, Harvest Hoedown, Kidfest, Vacation Bible School, Lock-Ins, and much more. Background checks are required for everyone who works with our elementary students. If you are interested in working with children and making a difference in the next generation, contact Mark Sparks.
Youth Leader – Middle School and High School
We need individuals who have a heart for teenagers and who desire to invest in the lives of our future generation. There are many ways one can get involved from small group leader, one-on-one mentor, prayer partner, fundraiser supporter, activities chaperone, and much more. We have weekly Middle School and High School services, mid-week small groups for guys and girls, monthly activities, and yearly activities such as Winterfest, Youth Camp, Missions Trips, Junior/Senior Retreat, Fall Middle and High School Retreats, Senior Trips, and much more. Not much more is required other than having a heart for teens and the desire to help out! Background checks are required to work with our young people. Contact Pastor Brian Zdrojowy for more info!

Guest Services Captain
Volunteer Central is a first serve opportunity at our church; however, we are constantly looking for individuals who would like to lead a team at one of our Sunday services in a given month. Duties of a VC Captain include assigning all team members to their positions, overseeing all aspects of greeting and hospitality, scoping out first time visitors and getting to know them, taking attendance for the morning service, and collecting and counting all offerings for the service. If you would be interested in leading a team of volunteers, please contact Jacqueline Zdrojowy.
Communion Host
This is a team of individuals who help pass out the elements during our communion service the first Sunday of every month. Those who sign up will work one service on an every other month rotation. Much prayer and self-reflection is taken by the individuals of this team. Those on this team help set up the elements as well as serve them to the attendees of our congregation. We also have teams that serve during special events and holidays such as Good Friday and Christmas Eve. If you are interested in serving on this team, please contact Harriet Cushing.
Intersect Prayer Team
Do you like to intercede on the behalf of others? Do you like to pray with others who are going through struggles in their lives? Would you like to lead the lost in a sinner’s prayer? If any of these are you, than we need you on our Intersect Prayer Team. We ask for a one service per month commitment. The Intersect Team sets the tone for our weekly services. This team intercedes during the length of our service as well as is available to pray during special prayer times during worship and altar call at the end of each service. If you are interested in joining the Intersect Team, please contact Mike Ferrante.
Growth Group Leader or Host
Growth Groups are the key to discipleship and Christian growth in our church. We are constantly looking for people who will lead a group as well as those who would be willing to host a group at their home. If you have the gift of hospitality, leadership, or teaching, this is a great ministry opportunity for you to consider. We have new growth groups starting three times a year. Please contact any of our staff if you would be interested in leading or hosting a growth group.
Growth Track Leaders
We encourage all of our new attendees to go through our Growth Track system. This includes Church 101, Discipleship 201, Ministry 301, and Missions 401. This system will be a part of our growth group semester and will be a four to six week period. Leaders will walk new members through the basic elements of our church, their discipleship journey, their SHAPE for ministry and how to use that to reach out to the world around them. Leaders will be provided with the materials they will need to teach this class. If you have a passion to disciple the lost, this ministry opportunity could be for you! Please contact Jacqueline Zdrojowy if you are interested.
Life Stage Coordinator
One of the most important parts of church involvement is the community that you gain. We strive to link people together with others who are in their same stage of life. We have found that as people get together to do something fun, hearts and lives are linked! Coordinators are those who have a passion for particular groups of people and desire to lead them in some fellowship/hang-out events throughout the year. If you would like more information on becoming a life stage coordinator, please contact Jacqueline Zdrojowy for more details.
Visitation Team
This is a team of individuals who seek out those who cannot make it to us including Shut-Ins as well as those who are in the hospital. There are always seasons of greater need, where there are too many people for the staff to visit alone. We need your help to make sure everyone feels the love of Christ through Westminster Church of God. Paul Cushing assigns all the visitations. Please contact him or his wife Harriett for info on how you can get plugged into this ministry!
